‘Missing’ IGP Gen Kayihura in Turkey

The disappearance of Inspector General of Police, approved Gen. Kale Kayihura has caused debate surrounding his health status and indeed his job.

Gen. Kayihura did not attend the State of the Nation Address on Tuesday at International Conference Center Serena Hotel Kampala but was instead represented by his deputy Okoth Ochola.

Coincidentally, check President Yoweri Museveni during the same event spoke tough against the police leadership for allowing thugs to infiltrate its command structure.

On Thursday during the budget reading, prescription Kayihura again didn’t turn up and Okoth Ochola took his seat.

ChimpReports has established that the Police boss left Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday afternoon for Turkish capital, Istanbul.

The reasons for his official visit remain classified.

The Police Spokesman, AIGP Asan Kasingye in a brief note to journalists, said the IGP has signed an unnamed Memorandum of Understanding with Turkey.

“IGP is in Turkey on official duty. He has signed an MOU that we shall soon brief you about,” Kasingye stated adding that Kayihura is returning in the course of the week starting tomorrow.


According travel arrangement that this website is in the know, Kayihura is expected to return on June 14.

Our sources have also told us that the unnamed deal is about the CCTV security cameras for streets.

Museveni ordered for the installation of CCTV cameras in major towns and highways after the brutal murder of AIGP Felix Kaweesi in March.
