Miss Uganda 2010-2017: What They’re Doing Now

Miss Uganda, undoubtedly, is the country’s premiere beauty Pageant.

Several Queens have come and gone ever since inception of the project.

Some of their reigns, over the years, have been marred with stereotypes of all nature; ranging from “She’s not beautiful enough” to “She’s an empty-headed beautiful queen.”

Usually after their reign, they disappear in oblivion. Fans are always wondering where they are and what they’re up to.

ChimpLyf now brings you an exclusive look into their lives after Miss Uganda.

Heyzel Nansubuga 2010-2011

It shall be remembered that Nansubuga was crowned amidst disagreements between the judges and the organizers.

Both sides had mixed feelings on crowning her, but later there was calm and she walked home a beauty queen.

Since that night, she has gone off the scene. Friends and organizers too have no idea where she is.

Sylvia Namutebi 2011-2012

Since her unopposed triumph, Sylvia has taken part in different charity projects.

In 2015, Sylvia got engaged to Aly Alibhai, CEO Talent Africa.

The beauty queen was also appointed the face and ambassador of Lauma Lingerie, a brand that deals in Female underwear.

Sylvia and her hubby welcomed their first child  in 2016.

Phiona Bizzu 2012-2013

Bizzu is a 24 year old graduate from Uganda Christian University.

Raised in an orphanage, Bizzu has always been in the news as she hardly misses out on any social gathering in Kampala.

For lack of better words, Bizzu can be termed as a ‘slay queen’ and undeniably the most common ex-Miss Uganda.

Among other things, her love life has been making headlines especially her alleged relationship with socialite Medi Moore.

 Stella Nantumbwe- 2013-2014

Commonly known as Ella, Stella Nantumbwe has become a house hold name in the Ugandan entertainment industry.

From a beauty queen Ella also represented Uganda in the Big brother Africa competition.

Nantume would later join Urban Television to co-present Skizzy with Shovon Malcom after which she took on Mary Luswata’s Scoop on Scoop.

After a short while, Ellah also earned herself at the same station to present “All-Star”—a celebrity show.

Ellah is currently focusing on her acting career in projects like second chance UG where she is a lead actress ‘Isabella’.

Leah Kalanguka-2014-2015

Her triumph generated a lot of fury, dust and comments from the public.

Many deemed her unfitting for crown, but she stood her ground.

The 24 year old beauty queen is a professional model who has graced top Uganda fashion shows.

Leah is currently focusing on her humanitarian work and other personal projects.

In 2016, Leah represented Uganda at the “World next top model” competition in Beirut, Lebanon.

Zahara Mohamed Nakiyaga 2015-2016

Zahara’s win  wasn’t in anyway opposed. She garnered support right from Bootcamp to the finale.

The Mityana District-born beauty queen has for the past months been up and down, hoping from trip to trip.

She has also ventured into farming and tree planting.

Leah Kagasa 2016-2017

Leah Kagasa is the reigning Miss Uganda from Kabarole district.

She is a marketing graduate from Makerere University Business School (MUBS).

Leah is currently the ambassador for Uganda Aviation School, Soroti after reaching agreement with the proprietor Capt. Mike Mukula.

On top pf the deal, she also scooped a scholarship at the same school, if she ever wishes to take it on.

The 22 year-old Queen has vast knowledge and passion for beauty and makeup, also considering to set up her own beauty shop.
