The dinner held at Ranchers Restaurant in Kololo and hosted by the Uganda Tourism Board was aimed at acknowledging different stakeholders for the role played in popularizing the Miss Tourism beauty pageant.

“We want to thank the beauty queens for always carrying the mantel of Uganda before them and showing the world that their beauty was from the Pearl of Africa,” Maria said.
Mutagamba also added that the success registered in the 2014 Miss Tourism beauty pageant was made possible by several corporate companies that came up to render a helping hand to the organisers.
She threw the house into laughter when she knelt down to thank Airtel Uganda for offering to sponsor the 2015 Miss Tourism pageant pointing out that in Buganda, kneeling was a custom to show appreciation.
In the house was the reigning Miss Tourism, Patricia Babirye, Florence Namwase, Ayisar Nagudi and many others.
A number of government official who usually advocate for the development of the tourism industry including Hon Hillary Onek joined the minister during the night event.
“We are passionate about the tourism and hospitality business in Uganda and we shall always be part of such big events,” Onek said.
The two ministers later led the beauty contestants to a dinner and later a dance that crowned the event.
