The Ministry of Tourism has launched a report of new Standard Operating Procedures [SOPs] for the hospitality sector that they have to follow during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The new guidelines will be put into action by the hospitality sector as they are doing their work.
The SOPs are aimed at ensuring compliance to health, hygiene, safety & sanitation guidelines, to prevent the spread of COVID19, protect employees, guests and suppliers.
While launching the Report the Minister of State for Tourism Wildlife and Antiquities Hon Godfrey Kiwanda said that they consulted the private sector and came up with the best procedures to follow.
He added that the Uganda Tourism Board and the Tourism Police should see to into that these SOPs are implementation.
“Make your guests enjoy their experiences as you implement the guidelines we have put in place for you to follow. Don’t make it look or feel like a prison for your customers. Customer satisfaction is very important and also don’t get tired of explain to your customers why they need to follow the guidelines” Hon Kiwanda said.
