The Ministry of Health has on Friday confirmed 154 new COVID-19 cases in Uganda bringing the cumulative total number of confirmed infections in the country to 7,218.
“Results from COVID-19 tests done on 24th September 2020; 154 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 7,218,” the Health Ministry announced.
The new cases include 135 contacts and alerts, and 1 returnee.
These include 45 from Kampala, 22 from Amudat, 20 from Mukono, 10 from Mbale, 8 from Lamwo, 6 from Wakiso, 4 from Luwero, 3 from Amuru, 3 from Gulu, 2 from Bunyangabu, 3 from Dokolo, 2 from Jinja, 3 from Kapchorwa, 1 from Agago, 1 from Buikwe, 1 from Bukedea and 1 from Omoro.
The returnee who tested positive for COVID-19 arrived from India.
The Ministry also confirmed a new covid-19 death registered from Gulu.
Currently, Uganda has a cumulative total of 7,218 COVID-19 confirmed cases, 3,611 recoveries and 71 fatalities.
