All Cabinet Ministers have once again been summoned to test for COVID-19.
ChimpReports has learnt that Ministers will be once again tested for COVID-19 tomorrow Friday 19, at the Office of the President from 9 am to 2 pm.
This will be the second time in the period of 14 days for Ministers to be tested for COVID-19.
The first compulsory test occurred on Friday, June 5, 2020, at the direction of President Museveni.
Museveni ordered all Ministers to test for COVID-19 just shortly Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda announced that he had gone into self-isolation after some of his contacts tested positive for COVID-19 although his test turned out negative.
Just a day after Ministers were tested for COVID-19, the Minister of ICT and National Guidance Judith Nabakooba explained the reason as to why Government decided to have all Ministers tested.
Nabakooba on Saturday, June 6, 2020, explained that Ministers are at the frontline of COVID-19 response which puts them among the most at-risk groups.
“This is because Ministers are busy and are at the frontline of COVID-19 response. Ministers interact with a lot of people on a daily basis and are part of the national COVID-19 Task Force. This puts us among the most at-risk groups when it comes to the national effort. It is against this background that we decided to undertake the tests,” said Nabakooba.
