State Minister of Finance in charge of planning, David Bahati has extoled the departed former Kampala Capital City Mayor, Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala as an exemplary leader.
Bahati in a brief message on Saturday afternoon, shortly after the announcement of Ssebaggala’s death, said the deceased had the city at heart.
“It’s a sad day for our city and the country at large hearing the demise of Haji Seya (Ssebaggala). He was a good man who had our capital city, Kampala at heart,” said Bahati.
Bahati, a staunch religious personality who chairs the Parliament’s National Prayer Breakfast Fellowship, noted that Ssebaggala was God sent and a humble servant.
“During his life, God used him as an example of the proverbial saying ‘from grass to grace’. His humility was unmatched. May God Rest his soul in eternal peace,” said Bahati.
Ssebaggala was on Saturday pronounced dead from Kampala International Hospital, Namwongo. He was admitted at the facility after falling in a bathroom at his home in Munyonyo on Monday night September 7, 2020.
He reportedly suffered abdominal complications resulting to an operation that was carried out successfully.
He became unwell again few days ago and was put on oxygen only to be announced dead today.
