Uganda Cranes holding midfielder Mike Azira is poised to make a u-turn to Major League Soccer outfit Seattle Sounders according to Sounder at Heart – the club’s Reign Blog.
Azira is currently a free agent following his contract expiration with another Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire at the climax of 2019/2020 season.
He played for Seattle Sounders between 2014 and 2015 making 25 appearances in all competitions before joining Chicago Fire after his stellar performance in the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt.
“There’s a chance the Sounders will bring in a veteran from somewhere in MLS — former Sounders Andy Rose and Micheal Azira who are both free agents, for instance — but the most likely addition is probably Academy product Reed Baker-Whiting,” read the statement on the site.
Seattle Sounders finished 2nd on the 2019/2020 MLS season with 39 points in the Western Conference before loosing 3-0 to Columbus Crew SC in the 2020 MLS Cup.
