An excited Onono, made the announcement on social media, promising to keep practicing journalism for the government owned broadcaster and also contributing for Red Pepper.

“I am glad to take on a new challenge as Gulu University Assistant Public Relations officer,” said Onono.

The investigative reporter started working at Gulu University on Monday this week.

Museveni also awarded 6 other reporters for their contribution in post war northern Uganda and the path to recovery after the Joseph Kony’s destructive civil conflict of two decades.

Gulu University was established by the Parliament Act 7 of 2001. That Act was subsequently amended by Act 3 of 2006. The university admitted its first students and commenced teaching activities in September 2002.
