Mirembe is trying both medical work and film acting as a way of making ends meet and increasing her income base.

She has joined actor Ashraf Semwogere, who is training her to become a successful actress.

She recently treated movie lovers at National Theatre to the premiere of her movie titled ‘Dog Story’, in which she acted with Michael Wawuyo Jr. and other actors. ‘Dog Story’ tells a story of a rebel who falls in love with one of his abductees, setting off a series of thrilling events. It is a production of Amani and features Raymond Rushanilo.

During the premier Mirembe said that “I hope to make it big on the local and international scenes by telling African stories as seen through the eyes of the continent’s citizens.”

She added that “I see myself making it big here in Africa and international producers coming here to develop the virgin industry with us. My dream is seeing this industry grow with the support of our government,” Mirembe said on Wednesday.

Mirembe has acted in other Kina-Uganda movies like ‘NECTAR’, ‘WAKO’, ‘Prayer Works’, among others.

She notes that “Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tip toe if you must, but take the step.”
