Mbekeka Named New Head Coach At Lady Doves FC

 

Newly promoted FUFA Women Elite League team Lady Doves have named former Crested Cranes player Oliver Mbekeka as their new head coach ahead of the forthcoming season.

The Masindi based side appointed Mbekaka to guide them on a two year deal replacing Fred Musiime who will now be the assistant coach

During the official unveiling at Boma Ground in Masindi town, club proprietor Julius Mugisa indicated Mbekeka has the necessary expertise to lead the team in the league.

“We are proud and happy to have Mbekeka on board as our head coach because we believe she has the ability to manage the team. She played football and has coached up to a high level, so we have the confidence she was the right candidate.” Mugisa said.

It should be noted that Mbekeka is the current Crested Cranes physical trainer and also doubles as Uganda U20(Women) assistant coach.

In her speech, Mbekeka indicated she was happy to join Lady Doves a team that is focused and organized.

” I’m delighted for this opportunity to work with a committed and focused unit. The organization here is massive and I have the belief we shall perform well. ” She said.

Lady Doves FC is in Victoria group of the 2018/19 FUFA Women Elite league and will face teams like Kawempe Muslim, Ajax Queens, Gafford Ladies, Rines WFC, Muteesa I Royal University, She Corporate and Dynamic SS.

The club also went ahead to unveil new signings that have been recruited to bolster the squad.

These include Rahma Namugeye(from UCU Lady Cardinals), Zeddy Lilian and Gertrude Karungi from Gafford Ladies, Gladys Nakitto and Winnie Babirye from Kampala Queens plus Maggie Kayima from Rines WFC.

The new season is expected to start on 22nd September 2018.
