A security guard in Mbarara is said to have raped a woman today Wednesday, in broad day light and managed to escape.
According to police, the incident took place in the morning when the victim, a one Mariam Nasasira, 28, had just arrived in Mbarara from Kampala by bus.
Police revealed that as the victim was still waiting for a bodaboda, she decided to go and ease herself in a nearby corridor.
She was however followed by an armed guard of G4S Security, who raped her.
“The victim made an alarm which attracted two bodaboda riders who found the suspect on top of her and arrested her,” the police said.
Another security guard of SECURITY 2000 however, is said to have come, cocked his gun, threatened to shoot the bodaboda riders, who after scampering, he rescued the suspect and they both escaped.
In a statement, the law enforcement body revealed that inquiries are at hand and detectives are liaising with supervisors of the two security companies to have the suspects arrested
