Mbarara MP Summoned Over Defamation

Lord Norman Foster, who is building the droneport, is a British architect to build iconic buildings like the Gherkin in London.

The Project partners say the drones would be cost and energy effective and the aircraft would carry food, medicine, blood, and other supplies to regions with infrastructural challenges to improve health and economic outcomes in Africa.

“The specialist drones can carry blood and life-saving supplies over 100 kilometers at minimal cost, providing an affordable alternative that can complement road-based deliveries” the Norman Foster Foundation and partners revealed.

According to the foundation, initially, the project will deploy 3-meter wingspan drones, capable of carrying a payload of 10kg.

By 2025, there will be drones with a 6-meter wingspan, capable of carrying payloads of 100kg.

Incumbent Mbarara Municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Medard Bitekyerezo has been called to record a statement at the police following the defamatory statements he uttered in public campaigns against his opponent Michael Tusiime who is seeking to take his parliamentary position.

MP Bitekyerezo is said to have been telling his supporters that he paid his opponent to withdraw from the previous 2011 elections.

He further told them that he would once again buy off Tusiime in the coming 2016 elections.

Tusiime took offence of these remarks from the incumbent and noted that they were bent to damage his person in the face of the electorate.

“I have never received any single coin from Bitekyerezo to withdraw from any race,” stressed Michael Tumwiine.

Tusime through his lawyers of Kateera and Kagumire Advocate Solicitors asked the MP to make a public apology and retract his statements or face criminal prosecution.

Mbarara OC CID Taban Chiriga confirmed to us that a summon copy was handed to him to arrest the MP if he did not comply in a two days’ time.

MP Bitekyerezo was still unavailable for a comment.
