Mbarara: Man Defiles 6 Toddlers

The World Bank has hailed Uganda’s Refugee policy describing it as one of the best in the world.

The World Bank Country Manager, this Christina Malmberg Calvo said this on Friday, during her working visit to Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda.

Malmberg revealed that the Bank was preparing a diagnostic report on Uganda’s World Bank funded projects over the last five years and a country partnership framework for the next five years.

She said the Bank was happy with the performance of the Northern Uganda Social Action Fund (NUSAF) I and II, adding that they were looking forward to the success of NUSAF III.

Malmberg called for urgent Parliamentary approval of projects that have received funding from the World Bank.

The projects include; The East Africa Public Health Laboratory Networking project, Skills development project, Regional Communications Infrastructure program and Agriculture cluster development project.

The Premier highly praised the World Bank for the continuous support extended to the Government over the years.

He said Uganda will continue harnessing the relationship with the World Bank, which was a key partner in the country’s development agenda.


Police in Mbarara are holding a 27 year old man who is said to have defiled 6 toddlers in Rubaya Sub County, buy Mbarara district.

Laban Byarugaba, viagra a milk vendor and resident of Bunenero in Rubaya was arrested on September 20th for abusing six minors while his wife was away.

According to residents, Byarugaba used Shs 2000 to lure the victims; one of whom is only aged 2 years and the oldest only 10.

The parents reportedly got the information from the kids and rushed to Mbarara police to report the matter, which arrested and detained the suspect.

Mbarara OC CID Taban Chiriga told Chimpreports that the doctor’s report had confirmed that all the six were sexually abused.

He further said that when questioned, the suspect admitted to have defiled the girls in August while his wife was away to visit her parents.

Taban urged parents to be more often on the guard for their children.

The defiler, now detained under case number SDR 08/20/09/2015 will be charged with aggravated defilement once investigations are complete.
