Mbarara: Crime Preventers Batter Suspected Goat Thieves

Rwizi Regional police are holding 3 people alleged to have stolen 10 goats from Kiruhura district.

Ivan Nganyira, drugs Barnabus Katungi and Nelson Musada were all arrested on Monday morning in Rutooma trading centre after their numberless Toyota Corolla containing 4 goats was stopped by Crime presenters and the locals in Kashari.

The three were being trailed after the locals in Byanamira, there Kashongi in Kiruhura district tipped police about the stolen goats from the area.

The stolen goats were loaded in an Ipsum number UAP 600A and numberless Toyota Corolla and were headed for Mbarara town

The OC-CID Kashongi Bernard Atukunda said the 3 have been tormenting the areas of Kashari and Kiruhura where they are said to have stolen over 300 animals.

Upon interception in Rutooma, the suspected thieves were badly beaten by the Crime Preventers, before Rwizi police arrived and took the them to Mbarara referral hospital.
