Mbarara: 6 Armed Robbers in Police Custody

The adjudicatory chamber of FIFA ethics committee has suspended the world football chief Sepp Blatter for eight years from all football related activities both national and international.

The Case;
Part of the ruling released by Fifa reads, order “The proceedings against Mr Blatter primarily related to a payment of CHF 2, information pills 000,000 (USD 2M) transferred in February 2011 from FIFA to Mr Platini. Mr Blatter, in his position as President of FIFA, authorized the payment to Mr Platini which had no legal basis in the written agreement signed between both officials on 25 August 1999. Neither in his written statement nor in his personal hearing was Mr Blatter able to demonstrate another legal basis for this payment. His assertion of an oral agreement was determined as not. convincing and was rejected by the chamber.”

The 60-year-old Swiss national has also been fined USD 40,000 while Plattini will pay double (USD 80,000).

The ruling means that the Uefa boss will not run for the Fifa presidency due in February 2016.

Blatter’s spokesman told press that they will appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The case which was thoroughly investigated by Ms. Vanessa Allard, a member of the investigatory chamber of the Ethics Committee, resulted in a final 40-page report which was submitted to the adjudicatory chamber on 20 November 2015.

The adjudicatory chamber then opened formal proceedings on 23 November 2015, and the hearing took place at Fifa headquarters in Zurich on 18 December 2015.
Police in Mbarara have in detention six suspected robbers who are said to have been terrorizing people along Mbarara-Masaka road.

The group was arrested on Friday evening following reports that they were targeting the chairman LC3 Kakika Mr. Benon Mugume.

Chairman LC 1 Rwebihiro cell in Kakika Joseph Kakoza told police that the gang was responsible for many robbery cases in the area especially around the weigh bridge on Mbarara-Masaka road.

He said that the gun was recovered in Frank’s water tank after one of their colleagues Laulian Rugambwa sneaked information to the chairman LC 3 that assailants wanted to kill him.

Laulian also told police that they would use the same gun to hunt animals like buffaloes in L. Mburo national park.

Rwizi Region OC CID Jackson Tumwine said that over 6 guns have been recovered within a week in Mbarara in the numerous operations carried out ahead of the Christmas festivities.
