Police in Mbarara has arrested 3 people on allegations of killing a 28 year old woman in Andrews Cell, treatment Kakiika Division in Mbarara Municipality.
Naomi Bwengye, a business woman in Mbarara was killed on 29th March in broad day light while in her shop by assailants
Police had a breakthrough in the investigations yesterday, arresting Juliet Muhumuza, 29, Owen Tumwekwase 21, and Kenneth Twinamatsiko 24 as the key suspects.
One of the suspects Twinamasiko told police that he and Muhumuza were paid Shs 800,000 by Juliet Muhumuza to rid her neighbor.
“Juliet first gave me 2 packets of rat poison to put in Naume’s food promising me the money but when I hesitated, she hired my colleague who hit the deceased on the head with a rock. I helped him carry her to her bedroom where we strangled her to death before we both escaped,” Twinamasiko
The DPC Mbarara Jaffar Magyezi says more investigations are ongoing to establish the motive of the murder of the single mother.
