Mbabazi Facebook Supporter’s Home Checked by Police

Police have Thursday searched the residence of Jeanette Mugisha, medicine search a social media enthusiast and supporter of presidential aspirant Amama Mbabazi.

According to city lawyer Nicholas Opiyo, Mugisha is suspected of being a manager or administrator of several WhatsApp groups supportive of Mbabazi.

It is understood detectives took away Mugisha’s electronic gadgets for a deeper investigation.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango was not readily available for comment.

ChimpReports understands that for the last few weeks, Mugisha has been posting pro-Mbabazi messages on her Facebook page.

She is also very active on WhatsApp and Facebook forums created to popularise Mbabazi’s 2016 presidential bid.

Mugisha, who hails from Bushenyi in Western Uganda, has as well been critical of what she describes as police’s “double standards” in executing their duties.

“Partisanship and biased conduct of Uganda police has narrowed down, to being the shield and sword of one faction of NRM party,” she posted on her Facebook page recently.

“The double standards of dispensing different set of rules to exempt one faction from playing by the book. Why apply the law selectively by granting one faction permission to assemble and deny the other the right to assemble based on a draconian law?” she wondered.
