Former Agriculture Minister Hope Mwesigye Ruhindi has apologized to the people of Uganda for ‘misleading’ them into the lifting of the presidential term limits in 2005.
Mwesigye said yesterday that she was regretful to have greatly contributed to the constitutional amendment that guaranteed the stay of president Museveni in power for three decades now.

The former minister who is now supporting the presidency of former Prime Minister Hon Amama Mbabazi also blasted the resident for claiming all the time that he brought peace in Uganda, drugs when in fact it was the effort of other people, visit many of whom have abandoned him including Mwesigye herself.
“I fought for the peace he claims; we fought with him and we liberated this country. But of course it is always about him,” she said.
Mwesigye was on Saturday speaking at the launch her campaign to regain the Kabale Woman MP seat that she lost to Rita Rona Ninsiima in 2011.
Mwesigye who is also Mbabazi’s sister in-law said that no one would ever force her out of the NRM party because she is among its founders.
Despite being dissatisfied with the manner in which it is being run; she vowed never to abandon the ruling party.
Mwesigye will be facing the incumbent Rita Rona Ninsiima ( independent ) , Catherine Ndamira (NRM), viola Nahabwe(UPC) and Victoria Abigail Atukunda( independent) for the parliamentary seat.

“You could see where the body was slit. But any way it’s easy to establish. So what happened?” Mbabazi wondered.
The former Premier’s remarks come after Aine’s purported dead body was published in a local tabloid, leading to the arrest of two editors.
The contested pictures would later go viral on social media.
Police maintain Aine, who is wanted for reportedly assaulting President Museveni’s supporters in Ntungamo, is alive but remains in hiding.
The law enforcement body has since put up a Shs20m bounty for anybody providing information leading to Aine’s arrest.
This has left many wondering whether Aine is dead or alive.
Go Forward Camp says Aine was last month picked by security personnel from his residence in Kyanja, an allegation police vehemently denies.
At the presser, Mbabazi exclaimed: “Have police together with medical authorities identified that body which was published?”
He expressed hope that courts of law would compel police to produce Aine.
