Long serving NTV employee Maurice Mugisha has quit the Serena Hotel based television station under Nation Media Group (NMG).
ChimpLyf understand that September (last month) was his last month at NTV where he has been working as the Head of News Production.
Reports indicate that Mugisha is joining Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) where he will occupy the position of Deputy Managing Director (MD) as part of the ongoing restructuring process at the Nile Avenue based corporation.
Whereas there many reasons for his leaving, it is quite obvious that UBC offered Mugisha a deal too good to turn down with better pay.
Mugisha is however not the only seasoned NTV employee leaving. We are that Josephine Karungi handed in her resignation months back and is just at the station serving her three months’ notice before she officially exits. She has been a news anchor and host of Perspective with Josephine Karungi.
Others who have left include Sheila Nduhukire and Maurice Ochol.
Mugisha has been at NTV for over a decade having started his television career as a sports reporter at defunct WBS TV before joining the Serena based station as a news anchor before he was promoted to Head of News Production.
At UBC, he joins a team headed by Nada Anderson who replaced Winston Agaba as MD, Jane Kasumba- Head of Communications, Doreen Ndeezi-Head of Radios and Tony Owana as Head of Archives.
