Wednesday, 21st October – Kitara Vs Kiboga Young (12 pm)
Venue: FUFA Technical Center, Njeru
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has appointed match officials who will be in charge of the final for the promotional FUFA Big League play-offs.
Kitara FC will battle Kiboga Young in a long awaited final scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru behind closed doors.
The FUFA Referees Appointing Committee has confirmed Alex Muhabi as the center referee for the final duel.
He will be deputized by Dick Okello and Isa Masembe as the first and second assistant referees respectively while William Oloya is the fourth official. Mark Sonko will serve as the referee assessor.
Kitara stormed the FUFA Big League promotional playoffs final following a 7-6 penalty shootout victory against Kataka FC on Monday.
Kitara’s goalkeeper Dennis Kiyimba was heroic having saved two penalties during decisive spot kicks following a barren draw in the normal time.
Kiyimba denied Kataka’s Yusuf Ezama and team captain Peter Lusimbula despite Emmanuel Mukisa, Joel Baba Onziku, Hassan Wadenga, Moses Ssekasana, Azizi Nambobi and Nassur Nandala converting their kicks for the losers.
Denis Monday, Phillip Sempira, Samuel Adibo, Patrick Mugume, Musa Docca, skipper Maxwell Owachgiu and Dan Ekoyu scored for Kitara with only Peter Lumolo failing to hit the net from 12 yards.
In the other semifinal duel, Kiboga Young came from a goal down to oust Ndejje University 3-1 who had an early lead through Sula Tumusiime’s kick from the penalty mark after 35 minutes.
Kiboga Young’s captain Jamaldine Buchochera, Brian Olega and Sula Wambede scored the priceless goals from recess which ensured an emphatic victory for Richard Makumbi’s team advancing to the final.
The victor between Kitara and Kiboga Young will join Malabba Youth Development Association (MYDA) and UPDF FC in next season’s Uganda Premier League.
