Massa’s Issue is Beyond Us – FUFA

Following the recent tragedy that hit Geoffrey Massa, ChimpReports contacted the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) to see where the organization stands with their former Skipper.

On Thursday July 13, police found Massa’s car parked along the Namboole fly-over.

When the officers approached the vehicle, Massa who was with his friend Josephine Maliza decided to drive off, an act which forced the police to fire shots at Massa’s car.

Recently, Emillian Kayima, the Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, revealed that Massa is likely to be charged with attempted Murder.

Speaking with Rogers Byamukama on why the federation has kept a deaf ear on Massa’s incident, the FUFA executive Member wondered: “Was he on national duty?”

“You know at the end of the day, when you are in this position, we also have private lives; I don’t fight with my wife at home then the federation come to defend me,” he said.

Byamukama affirmed that the sports body will not get involved in the matter, but will only wait for the decision from the police.

“It’s a purely private matter and I’m sure that the police is handling. Once they are ready, we will get the true story. But as of now, it’s an issue which is beyond us.”
