Masaza Cup four time Champions, Gomba Ssaza team has continued dominating the transfer window with thorough recruitment process.
The latest acquisition by Ibrahim Kirya’s side another forward in Lamech “Lampash” Mwebaze, coming in as the team’s 17th signing ahead of this year’s Championship.
The Kampala Junior Team center forward has signed a one-year contract extension with the record Champions after last year’s relatively successful Masaza cup campaign.
Mwebaza has managed to score just one goal in the three Masaza Cup appearances.
Mwebaza joins fresh talent at Gomba in goalkeepers Derrick Emmanuel Were and Nasif Kabuye, alongside Richard Basangwa, Isaac “Falcao” Ogwang and Raymond Walugembe.
Other players recruited are Henry Bishop Orom, Nasser Lukwago (right backs), Ponsiano Ssegonjja, Ben Nambokoho (left backs), Abdallah Ssentongo, Joseph Bright Vuni (central defenders), Amuli Mukasa, Hussein Grace Senoga (holding midfielders), Ibrahim “Seven” Kasinde, Bashir Lubinga, Sharif “De Maria” Nsereko (attacking midfielders).
According to the team’s Public Relations Officer David Isabirye, the team is left with more Eight signings in their pursuit to win the fifth title.
The 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2017 winning team is galvanized by head Coach Ibrahim Kirya and Dennis Kizito “Denol” as his immediate assistant.
