Masaka: NUP Parliamentary Candidate Killed in Car Crash

A former National Unity Platform (NUP) parliamentary contestant in Masaka district has died.

Badru Katongole reportedly perished in a car crash on Friday morning. He recently contested unsuccessful for the Bukoto Central parliamentary NUP flag..

According to reports, the deceased was on his way to the burial of renowned Muslim Scholar Dr. Anas Kaliisa in Ntungamo

NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) confirmed the development which he said was “shocking.”

“He perished in a terrible accident this morning,” Bobi Wine said

“On behalf of the NUP fraternity and on my own behalf, I send deep sympathies to his family, friends and all of us who knew him. What a loss to the forces of change!  We shall coordinate with the family regarding burial arrangements.”
