Maroons FC Vs Express FC, 4:00 PM
Maroons FC will seek to detain visitors Express FC as the sides square off at Luzira Prisons grounds on Match day 14.
Both sides will look to start 2019 on a high after closing 2018 with victories in their last league games – Maroons FC and Express beat Ndejje and Nyamityobora FC respectively.
Maroons who are fighting to beat the drop this season, can extend their gap from the red zone to eight points, with victory.
The Reds on the other hand, ninth on the log with 19 points, can move up to fifth temporarily if they get their third away win of the season.
It has been a difficult season for the hosts, and it was predicted by many, following the departure of head coach Asaph Mwebaze who joined Onduparaka FC before crossing to Nyamityobora.
Maroons, under George ‘Best’ Nsimbe and David Obua, has conceded 19 goals in 13 games. The team conceded just 20 goals the whole of last season as they finished 10th.
The team has won only two games (Onduparaka and Nyamityobora) playing at Luzira this season, losing three games and drawn once.
Against Ndejje, the side showed resilience when they came from a goal down to win 3-2, with Ronald Orombi, Samson Mutyaba and Seif Batte all on target.
The team will hope that Rashid Agau is fit to add on his six goal tally when they face Express FC on Thursday.
Nsimbe is expected to start Bugembe Ashadu in goal, with Okello Maxwell, Mpuga Martin, Okello Steven, Brian Majwega, Felix Okot, Yubu Bogere, Ronald Orombi, all to start.
