The Democratic Party (DP) presidential candidate Nobert Mao has promised to form a new Government where everyone will be “equal before the law” if he is elected the next president of Uganda on January 14, 2021.
Mao who was campaigning in Kween district in Sebei sub region on Thursday, said DP believes in equality and promised to resettle all people that have been displaced from their land.
“Whether you are rich or poor, we must be equal before the law. We know that some of you are displaced from your land. DP promises to resettle you. We have a Land Fund in Uganda but why is not coming to Kween? We will be your voice,” he said.
“You are not the only people who are tired of this Government of Museveni. In most parts of Uganda, people are tired. If you are tired, you vote the hoe (DP symbol),” he added.
Kween which initially was called Sebei district, Mao said, was created by DP to give the locals power to make decisions for themselves
Mao persuaded the people of Kween to vote DP symbol of hoe saying that it is a sign of ordinary people.
“I don’t know whether any of you owns a bus (ruling NRM party symbol) but I am sure you own a hoe,” he said.
Uganda will go to the polls on January 14, 2021 to elect the next president.
11 candidates including the incumbent President Yoweri Museveni are contesting to win Uganda’s top job.
