Uganda National Men’s Basketball Team (Silverbacks) head coach Mande Juruni has named a final Seven man local based squad for the Afrobasket qualifiers in Egypt.
Juruni had initially summoned a squad of 12 home based players that have been training at the MTN Arena, Lugogo from which five have been trimmed off.
Uganda Christian University (UCU) Canons power forward Titus Lual is the only debutant on the team selected for the Qualifiers.
The final list of seven players will depart for Alexandria on the 12th of November to join the six-man squad of foreign based players that was earlier summoned.
The Silverbacks will face off with hosts Egypt, Morocco and Cape Verde in group E in the tournament scheduled for 27th – 29th November, 2020.
In Egypt, Uganda will be coached by George Galanapolous in their attempt to reach the Afrobasket final tourney for a third straight appearance after 2015 and 2017.
