Man Remanded for Stealing Court  Registrar’s Vehicle

Buganda Road Court has charged and remanded a one Muhammad Nkwasiibwe to Luzira prison for allegedly stealing the motor vehicle belonging to High Court Registrar Isaac Muwata.

Appearing before Buganda road chief magistrate James Eremye, prescription Nkwasibwe who has been working as Muwata’s driver pleaded not guilty of the charges against him.

He was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, obtaining money by false pretence and the count of stealing 3 million shillings that belonged to his boss Mr Muwata.

It is alleged that on the 13th/October 2016 at Casino Pyramid along Yusuf Lule Road, Nkwasiibwe stole an Audi number UAX 177R, valued at  Shs. 26Million and another 3 million shillings; all  the property of Muwata.

Nkwasiibwe is also said to have obtained 7.2 million shillings from Moses Sserunjoji by falsely pretending that he was selling to him the said car.

Nkwasibwe has been remanded to Luzira Prison until the 12th November 2016 the same day he is expected to present his bail application.
