Security guard Benjamin Kiprono, 29, was Friday charged with obtaining money by false pretence, after he was arrested for soliciting and receiving money from people, claiming he was to help them to be recruited in the presidential sanctioned Local Defence Unit [LDU] force.
Kiprono a resident of Kamwokya was charged before City Hall Court grade one magistrate Patrick Talisuna.
He was however released on a Shs. 1Million non cash bail, having presented reasonable grounds for his release.
The matter was adjourned to 3rd November 3rd 2018 for mention.
Prosecution led by Lydia Batiibwe contends that the accused on September 27th 2018 at Kamwokya in Kampala, with intent to defraud obtained money 250,000 shillings from a one Winnie Namataka by falsely pretending that he was to help her get recruited into the Local Defence Units whereas not.
