Media personality Malaika Nnyanzi is over the moon over her first ever nomination as an actress.
The K-FM radio presenter has received a nod in the 2018 Uganda Film Festival awards in the category of Best Supporting Actor for her role in new Ugandan film ‘Veronica’s Wish’ which will be premiering this Saturday November 17, at Kampala Serena Hotel.
Malaika who plays a character of Bankia in the film has been pitted against other talented acts like Stella Nantumbwe (Bella), Joan Agaba (94 Terror), Nalukenge Sophia (Kikumi Kikumi) and Hellen Nakamanya (The Agreement) for the accolade.
Malaika has taken to social media to convey her excitement, posting a screenshot of the nomination list with the caption, “My 1st MOVIE and I was NOMINATED #VeronicasWish”.
The 2018 Uganda Film Festival will take place from 26-30th November, 2018.
The 4 day festival that aims to celebrate Uganda’s film industry will kick off with a number of workshops and culminate with an awards ceremony at Kampala Serena Hotel, where the winners in the different categories will be announced.
