Probably Betway Power’s most outstanding player last season, Michael Makiadi, has revealed to ChimpReports that he will miss the Power fans – the player has joined Rwanda’s Patriots.
In an exclusive interview with ChimpReports, Makiadi, who has been with Power for three years said:
“Am going to miss a lot of things in Uganda that is the lifestyle and my friends that I have left behind but it’s the Power fans that am going to miss the most.”
Speaking on why he joined Patriots, he revealed: “I was given a better offer at Patriots that I could not turn down, so there is nothing that went wrong between me and Power.”
He added, “A couple of teams vied for my signature that I will not mention names, but I had to go with the highest bidder, and they are a good strong side that have a regular spot in Zone Five.”
The 2017 National Basketball Season saw Makiadi lead most of the league stats; he scored the most points with 500, and led the rebounds section with 349, 100 rebounds better than Oiler’s Landry Ndikumana, he posted 69 assists in total as Betway Power reached the League Semis.
(However, the leader board standings may change due to the upcoming men’s final between Oilers and KIU Titans).
“At Patriots, my biggest task is being able to play as I did for power this season and blending in with the team and hopefully winning the championship,” added Makiadi.
