Makerere University Student Clobbered to Death

Two people have been arrested in Rukungiri In connection to the murder of a 23 year old Makerere University student.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional police mouthpiece named the deceased as   Moses Ahumuza, a third year student who was doing a Bachelors of Commerce course.

He hailed from Ngarama village in Nyarushanje sub county, Rukungiri district.

Maate says Ahumuza was accosted by two people at Nyamakukuru trading centre in the night on Sunday and beaten with sticks until he was unconscious.

Police named the suspected attackers as Trust Muramura, 18, and Beatrice Tumwine, 48; both residents of Ngarama.

Maate says Rubabo police station was notified by chairman LCIII Nyarushaje Sub county and officers responded immediately and rushed the victim to the hospital  in Kisiizi, where he passed away yesterday.

Both suspects Muramura and Tumwine were arrested as investigations into the murder carry on.
