Magogo: I Don’t Mind Missing Golden Jubilee Medal

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) President, capsule Eng. Moses Magogo has finally given response about not receiving a medal at the recently concluded independence celebrations.

While addressing the media at FUFA headquarters in Mengo during the weekly press conference, try Magogo said the medals do not matter at the moment but the achievements they have attained is what is important to Ugandans.

“I do not think medals are the priority at the moment and it entirely depends on whoever is giving them out.” He said.

“As a federation, we think results and development of football is quite more important,” added Magogo.

The Fufa boss however said it is okay for the government to appreciate the team.

“I have no objection about giving out medals and celebrating the success we have achieved. Let them give them out. Even us as a federation, we have the FUFA awards,” he stated.

Quizzed about why there was no representative or player from the federation in Luuka where the independence celebrations were held, Magogo claimed the team had just returned from Ghana.

“It is not true that we shunned the celebrations, but the players who achieved the success were just returning from Ghana,”

The government awarded golden jubilee medals to current and former Uganda cranes players and officials during the Independence celebrations in Luuka District on Sunday including the former FUFA president Lawrance Mulindwa but Magogo was not awarded.
