Vintage and classic auto show lovers are in for a memorable treat by reggae maestro Maddox Ssematimba.
According to the organizers, Maddox and his band have already been confirmed for the show slated for July 29, 2017 at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
This website further understands that the event has so far attracted 90 classic vintage showcasing individuals including 11 cars from Kenya’s motor enthusiasts led by Peter Wanday, Chairman of the Alfa Romeo owners club.
The Vintage and classic auto show intends to celebrate beauty, preservation and history of cars and motorcycles in Uganda.
Buganda Premier Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga is expected to grace the event as the guest of honour.
History shows that the first car in Uganda, a 1906 Albion 16HP engine car registered to Sir Hesketh Bell was gifted to Sekabaka Daudi Chwa (1897-1939).
By the 1930s, Kabaka Chwa owned a fleet of Buicks which he used for his hunting expeditions.
Sir Edward Walugembe 11 (1939-1966) owned a number of Rolls Royce cars, one of which currently stands at the Uganda Museum.
In the past, the show has attracted city business moguls like Gordon Wavamuno, Sudhir Ruparelia among others.
