Traditional healer and businesswoman Sophia Namutebi, commonly known as Maama Fina, has offered to mediate peace talks to reunite Bebe Cool with Bobi Wine and Jose Chameleone.
“I am ready to reconcile these three musicians,” she said.
Maama Fiina spoke on Boxing Day at ‘Tondeka E Kiwatule’ music concert in Kiwatule, Kampala.
“These three were very close friends. They need to reach an amicable solution to their differences and forgive each other,” she added.
Mama Fiina, an influential public figure in the central region, contributed Shs 4m toward the collection of school fees for 200 children under Bebe’s charity project.
While appearing on a local TV station in 2014, Bobi Wine said the rivalry with Bebe Cool is not personal but started from their lifestyles when both were still at Kamwokya.
“We had two groups; we the boys from the Ghetto and the Bebe, who came from the kigaga (wealthy), and this difference always created tensions and friction between the two groups,” the Fire Base boss revealed.
Bobi said even when Bebe joined Fire Base, he ended up unceremoniously partying ways, not because he was not talented but because he could not fit in.
In 2016, Bebe Cool said “everything Bobi Wine knows, he learnt from me.”
While appearing on a local television, Bebe Cool revealed how Eddy Yawe, Bobi’s older brother brought him to Bebe Cool so he could learn.
“I taught Bobi Wine music, when he was young…because his elder brother, Eddy Yawe brought him to me to help him grow musically, I just did that. That’s how close we got, but now we don’t relate,” said Bebe.
But Maama Fina is optimistic a solution can be found for the bad blood between Bebe and Bobi.
“If Bobi Wine doesn’t forgive Bebe Cool, let Bebe Cool forgive Bobi Wine,” she said.
