NTV’s Douglas Lwanga was today unveiled as the new ambassador for Yuppy’s clothing store at their main branch at Freedom City.
The flamboyant presenter was unveiled by Yuppy’s General Manager Datsun Abeho, who praised him for being a classy fashionista.
“We had a one year contract with NBS Television to dress their music programme presenter who was MC Kats but we never renewed it,” Abeho said.
He went on to explain that they decided to move on to a better formal deal and Douglas Lwanga was the best candidate.
When asked why they only get male ambassadors yet they also deal in women clothing, Abeho said that the search for a female ambassador is in the pipeline and they will be unveiling her soon.
“I am humbled to be Yuppy’s new ambassador; the contract is favorable and although I can’t disclose how much I will be earning, just know it is in millions,” said Lwanga.
He noted that Abryanz agreed to this new contract and he is still the brand ambassador of his fashion house too.
Lwanga will be giving the two companies 50% time each.
“Some clause in the contract states that Yuppy’s have to style me on public events; I am going to be given an advance payment and will enjoy discounts plus other privileges,” he explained.
The two companies will have separate days on which they are to dress him on his NTV show ‘The Beat’. Yuppy’s will be dressing him on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, while Abryanz takes the rest of the days.
Douglas Lwanga is the brand ambassador of companies like Africell, Abryanz fashion collection among others.
