Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has described Bobi Wine’s landslide victory in the Kyadondo East Parliamentary by elections as “a Manifestation of Supremacy of the will of the people.”
Lukwago who is a strong opposition figure in the country didn’t declare his side during the campaigns although he is a known close confidant of Bobi Wine.
“Congratulations to Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi and the people of Kyadondo East Constituency upon this resounding victory. It’s a clear manifestation of the supremacy of the Will of the people,” Lukwago wrote on his facebook wall.
“Certainly, your candidature brought to the fore huge challenges and lessons that call for urgent attention of all the forces of change. May the good Lord guide you in your new assignment as a humble servant of the people,” he added.
Although FDC’s Apollo Katinti lost, a number of opposition figures seem excited about Bobi Wine’s victory which most of them claimed demonstrated the power of the people.
Election tallying is still going on although preliminary results indicate that Bobi Wine is in the lead and could win by landslide.
Details of the results will follow shortly.
