On Tuesday, residents of Nakitolo village in Ttamu division, Mityana district killed two suspected cattle thieves in a mob action, chimp corps report.
According to police reports, at about 04:30 pm, three people suspected to be thugs were found in possession of two stolen cows belonging to one resident called John Lutwama.
The suspects were intercepted by the residents who lynched two and one was rescued by the area police.
The motor vehicle, a Noah Town ace registration number UAR 621M white in color in which they were moving in with the cows was also set ablaze by the angry mob.
Speaking to chimp corps, the Regional Police Spokesperson ASP Nobert Ochom said that the scene has been visited by SOCOs, area DPC and homicide team.
“Bodies of the burnt suspects were taken to Mityana Hospital pending postmortem and identification by the relatives and motor vehicle also towed to Ttanda police yard,” Ochom said.
Police has identified the suspect who was rescued as Nsubuga Kyambadde alias Farouk and he is under police custody.
One of the deceased suspects has been identified as Moses Lule, a businessman of Kazi Central Zone Nasana, Wakiso district.
