LDC’s Best Student Mutayomba: King Ceasar University Shaped My Legal Career


Mutayomba Godfrey a former student at King Caesar University (KCU) formerly known as St Augustine International University, emerged best student in criminal law at the 47th Law Development Center (LDC) graduation that took place last August.

He was also declared best overall performing student and accordingly awarded with the chief justice award beating students from other 40 universities in Uganda

He talked to Chimpreports about what contributed to his success

You recently emerged best student at the LDC’s last graduation, how did it feel?

Like anyone who has just won, I felt like I had achieved most of the things I had always dreamt about. It was a dream come true.

LDC course and exams are known to be hard with a lot of the students failing to pass them even on several attempts, how were you able to perform so well?

The foundation from my teachers throughout my school life more so the ones who taught me at King Caesar University contributed a lot to my success.  I want to thank the university proprietor, King Caesar for the opportunity he created, my dear parents for their relentless support both financial and morally throughout school and obviously the good lord who gave me the blessings to achieve


What was your experience as a law student at King Caesar University?

It was a great experience, the environment created by the University proprietor coupled with a variety of resources and senior lectures from big firms and with a vast experience that taught me and my colleagues were a great pillar to my performance.


How has the achievement affected your career?

It has brought me great opportunities to work with the best in the field.

What are your future plans?

I definitely want to continue with school like obtaining a masters degree and a PhD as well if at all I am able to obtain funding so as to be in a position to help out the younger generation as well

What is your advice to a senior six leaver intending to pursue Law?

I would advise them to take on the law as it’s a good profession and to as well go to St Augustine  international university now king Ceasor University as it is a great University that will direct them in the right direction and helping them in achieving their dreams
