The President of Uganda Law Society Simon Peter Kinobe has asked advocates not only to focus on earning from their professional but also to use it to improve on their communities in a number of ways.
While addressing lawyers at the enrolment ceremony held at High Court Kampala on Tuesday, Kinobe pointed out provision of free legal services as one of the ways of helping the needy.
“Everything good starts with God, therefore you should put him first in whatever you do, because without him you will be in trouble.”
Kinobe also asked the lawyers not to brag around in their communities pretending to know much because they still have a long way to go.
On his part, His Worship Jameson Karemani who represented the Acting Chief Registrar, asked lawyers to always be ethical in the course of their duties so as to maintain the respect of this noble professional.
He asked them to embrace the new innovations which were put in place by the Judiciary as one of the means of quickening justice.
Aaron Motoka who represented the secretary for Uganda Law council asked the lawyers to do enough research before going to court so as to avoid getting embarrassed before their clients.
“If other people in other professionals can spend time learning then what of you who is going to argue somebody’s case”
At this event 93 lawyers were enrolled as Advocates of High Court.
