Uganda Law Society the umbrella association of legal practitioners in the country has described the deceased former Attorney General, Peter Nyombi as a man who served his country with boundless dedication, utmost humility and commitment.
In a condolence message, the ULS president Simon Peter Kinobe said it was regrettable that government and the entire country lost a great senior counsel.
Kinobe also noted the major achievements of the late attorney general saying that “The late Nyombi saved Uganda billions in the Heritage tax oil case against Uganda and set a precedent.”
The fallen former attorney general passed on Sunday at SAS clinic in Kampala where he had been rushed after developing breathing complications.
He died at the age of 64 years and left behind a wife and four children.
According to burial arrangements, his body will lay in state on Wednesday at the Parliament before being transported to Nakasongola district where he will be buried at his country home.
