Lady Cricket Cranes Off to Namibia

The Uganda’s National Women’s Cricket team, the Cricket Cranes has this morning been flagged off at National Council of Sports offices in Lugogo.

The team is set to compete in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Africa Women’s World Twenty20 (also World Cup) Qualifier.

The tournament is set to begin on September 8th at the Wanderers Cricket Oval in Windhoek, Namibia at end ends on September 15.

The opening day will see Uganda take on hosts Namibia before Neighbours Kenya and Tanzania face off in an East African derby.

Zimbabwe is the other team to take part in the tournament.

Wicket Keeper Kevin Awino will captain the side and the Jinja SS player will be assisted by Janet Mbabazi of Wanderers.
