Nakiyemba Rashida, the girl seen on Facebook imploring authorities to repatriate her from Saudi Arabia where she had been shipped to work as a maid, has been returned home.
This follows a large social media campaign led by a number of activists and politicians such as Kawempe Division councilor Mohammed Ssegirinya.
Nakiyemba, this site understands, was returned early Friday morning by officials from Time Masters (U) Ltd and hidden from her angry parents who were waiting at the airport.
Based in Zzana, this agency is listed on the Ministry of Gender, Labor and Social Development’s EEMIS online monitoring platform as a labor exporting firm.
When contacted, gender and labor minister Hajjat Janat Mukwaya referred us to the director labor.
“For an operational matter it is the Permanent Secretary or director of labor. Me I deal with Policy”, Mukwaya responded.
On calling Time Masters, an unidentified man reiterated that he was busy before hanging up.
