Kyetume Forward Ssentongo Undergoes Successful Abdominal Surgery

Kyetume Football club striker Robert Ssentongo has successfully undergone a successful abdominal surgery.

The surgery was held at CBHC Kyetume Health Center IV in Kyetume, Mukono with his paymasters taking care of the bills that amounted to four million Ugandan shillings (Shs. 4,000,000).

The 32yr old Kyetume goal poacher is said to have felt unwell for quite some time even when the 2019/20 season was still on but held on to the climax.

Ssentongo, who began his career in 2002 with Kireka United alongside the legendary Magidu Musisi (RIP) are the only Ugandan players to top the scorers chats on 4 occasions.

He was the UPL top scorer in 2004 while at Simba scoring ten goals. He later topped the charts in 2011/12, 2014/15, and 2015/16 while at URA FC with 13, 15, and 18 goals respectively.

The former Sports Club Villa, KCC FC and St. George net buster joined the ‘Slaughters’ in 2018 from Ethiopian side Fassil Kenema.

The diminutive forward scored 8 league goals for Kyetume FC in the previous season helping the club maintain it’s top flight status with 30 points in the 11th place.

His recovery process is expected to last for not more than three months ahead of the 2020/21 season earmarked for October.
