Kutesa: We Must Rise against Radicalism

United Nations President, visit this site H.E Sam Kahamba Kutesa has highlighted the need to address the causes of radicalism by certain groups on the globe other than mere constantly condemning of their actions.

Kutesa made the remarks while speaking at a public lecture on Tuesday at Serena hotel under the theme; The United Nations at 70: Towards a Transformative Social and Economic Development Agenda.

He noted that terrorism and extremism had become a new challenge for the UN noting that it’s high time a holistic approach is identified to fight the evils.

“It is time we find reasons why some groups are more vulnerable to radicalism. We cannot continue to only hold views and attitudes towards such groups, sildenafil ” Kutesa said.

Kutesa added that the world should stop focusing on religious agenda in relation to the acts of terrorism but rather try to dig out the reasons why.

Several Islamic-based terror groups to date continue to terrorize various parties of the globe, search among others the Al Quaida, Al Shabab, Boko Haram.

The president further appreciated UN for the continued efforts towards conflict resolution around the world which has helped to improve livelihood.

He applauded the Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces (UPDF) and the Uganda Police for their participation in peace keeping within the region.
