Kitara FC Promoted to Uganda Premier League

Result: Promotional Playoff final

Kitara 1-0 Kiboga Young

Kitara Football Club has been confirmed as the third team promoted to the 2020/2021 StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

The Hoima based side edged Kiboga Young 1-0 in a closely contested FUFA Big League promotional playoff final played on Wednesday at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru in jinja.

The dread-locked striker Brian Muluuli Mayanja scored the priceless goal in the 55th minute of the second stanza, giving Kitara the edge needed to see off the game.

Kitara came close on different occasions when midfielder Jamil Nvule Kisitu and striker Brian Muluuli Mayanja squandered goal scoring opportunities.

Also, Kiboga Young’s Yahya Luuti and Godfrey Otika missed clear cut chances while goalkeeper Stephen Makumba made brilliant saves before recess.

The long awaited moment came after 55 minutes when striker Muluuli beat goalkeeper Makumbi inside the goal area and pocked home the winner.
