A 24 year old man has been arrested in Kisoro, in connection with the death of his 42 year old father.
Stephe Nizeyimana alias Muganda, who has been operating a shop at Gasheregenyi in Kanaba trading, Kisoro district was found dead in his shop on Monday morning, by a child that had gone there to take him breakfast.
Charles Okoto, the Kisoro District Police Commander says Nizeyimana’s son, one Gad Sibomana, who has had long time misunderstandings with the deceased was picked up to help in the investigations.
The suspect is said to have been pushing his father to give him Shs 2million, which he was paid for his daughter’s dowry, which the latter refused to.
On Sunday night, police believes the suspect attacked his father and killed him before taking off with the money.
Okoto say that Sibomana was arrested in Kisoro town on Monday morning in one of the drunkards’ hangouts know as Russian.
He says that the body of Nizeyimana was taken to Kisoro hospital for post mortem, while the son is detained at Kisoro police station as investigations of the case carry on.
