Kirumira Murder Case Pushed to Mid November

Wakiso Chief Magistrate Esther Nakadama has adjourned to November 14th the hearing of the case in which one Abubaker Kalungi is accused of murdering former Buyende District Police commander ASP Muhammad Kirumira and Resty Mbabazi.

The adjournment came after State Prosecutor Amelia Kamusha informed court that investigations in the matter are still underway.

Appearing before court today, Kalungi reported that he had had numerous health complications, including difficulty in walking and sitting.

On 4th October 2018, Kalungi was charged with murder before Wakiso Magistrates court.

He denied the charges and was remanded to Kigo Prison

Prosecution alleges that Kalungi, a 47 year-old carpenter, and others still at large, on September 8 at around 8pm, assassinated Kirumira and a female friend Resty Mbabazi who were in the same vehicle in Bulenga Wakiso district.
