A total of16 losers in last month’s National Resistance Movement (NRM) Parliamentary party primaries from Kigezi region have formed a coalition to fight against NRM flag bearers in the forthcoming general elections.
The pressure group led by one Simpson Mpirirwe, the former Ndorwa West MP contestant named itself the Kigezi NRM Front-liners.
These accuse the flag bearers of robbing them of their victory by especially intimidating and bribing voters and conniving with security organs in the recently concluded NRM primaries.
These are also unhappy with the NRM Chairman, President Yoweri Museveni whom they say did not intervene in their situation to prevent the election thieving.
These say they will be throwing all their weight behind the independent candidates in the region.
Tracy Asiimwe, Gloria Tukahurirwa, Doreen Twebaze, Levi Musinguzi who all lost to Mary Paula Turyahikayo in the race for Rubabo Constituency Member of Parliament seat vowed to rally behind David Ndindirize Tushabomwe who was second to Turyahikayo.
Dan Mbonigaba who lost to John Kamara for Bufumbira North, Francis Tiryoomwe who lost to Eddie Kwizera also said they could never support people that tormented them in the primary elections.
This was during a meeting that was held at Kirigime guest house on Thursday
