Kibale: 50 Arrested for Encroaching on Forest Reserve

Police in Kibaale District are holding over 50 people for allegedly encroaching on the Kangombe forest reserve.

Samuel Kisembo the Kibaale Resident District commissioner who is also the Kibaale Forest Task Force Chairperson says the suspects were rounded up during an operation held last week in the forest reserves of Bujogoro and Nyamarunda Sub County.

He said Police was forced to carry out operations after getting information’s that dozens of people were being ferried into the forest reserve by buses and other vehicles from the south during the Christmas festivities.


The RDC is asking all leaders and other security organs in the area to remain vigilant and report such people to authorities.
